Setting up membership plans and dues
Membership plans live under Plans.
Each plan has:
- A name (e.g. “Adult”, “Family”, “Junior”) and a price in USD — leave it at 0 for a free plan.
- A period — Calendar year is the default, so every member’s dues renew on the same date regardless of when they joined.
- An optional description and a list of benefits (one per line) shown to members choosing a plan.
From the demo club
Riverbend Archery Club offers three plans: Adult ($45/year — range access, club tournaments, monthly newsletter), Family ($70/year — covers up to 4 household members), and Junior (Under 18) ($20/year — range access, loaner equipment). All three renew on a calendar-year cycle.
What happens when someone joins on a paid plan:
- A membership term is created as pending the moment they submit the join form — they get access right away rather than being blocked at the door, but the term stays pending until payment clears.
- If your club has Stripe connected, they’re sent straight to a secure checkout; the term flips to active automatically once Stripe confirms the charge.
- If you use Venmo, CashApp, or take cash/checks, the term stays pending until an officer manually marks it paid from Members — pick the payment method they actually used when you do.
A plan can be edited later (price, name, period) without affecting members already on a term created under the old terms — changes apply going forward, to new and renewing terms.
